Making A Difference in Life
Making A Difference Outreach programs purpose is to make a difference by sharing encouraging words of hope to disenchanted and disadvantaged adults and their families.
Future plans consist of increasing much needed programs and services to people within the Sacramento County.
Meet Our Directors
Dr. Guy Washington-Executive Director
Dr. Washington was born in Peoria Illinois where he attended Peoria Central High School until joining the U.S. Army.
He later graduated from Nuremberg American High School in Erlangen, West Germany. Guy became involved with community work at an early age of fourteen, beginning with the youth branch of the N.A.A.C.P.
Later, as a Non-commissioned Officer, he became involved with leading soldiers in the U.S. army. He received his A.S. and B.A. in business from Columbia College, and received a Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Chapman University.
Dr. Washington holds a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, and currently works as a clinical and forensic psychologist for the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
He has completed scientific research on the prediction of long-term homelessness, and is passionate and committed to developing interventions designed to assist those diverse populations with re-integration back into mainstream society.

Dorothy was born in Peoria Illinois, and attended Peoria Central High School. She afterwards completed Fashion Merchandising and Modeling at Mid state Community College, in Peoria Illinois.
With her passion working as a volunteer for over 20-years , Dorothy worked with some large and small Non-Profits such as the Salvation Army, South-Side Mission Agency and as a family support facilitator & trainer with the U.S. Army Family Team Building Program.
She also worked for eight years for the State of Illinois Department of Rehabilitation with developmentally disabled adults, providing life coaching and nursing assistance.
Dorothy co-founded Making a Difference Outreach Programs, which assists disadvantaged groups with specific interventions and supportive services. She has a passion for re-establishing and directing consumers into productive citizens, within their communities.

Marlene Squires - volunteer
Communications and Development
Marlene has been in the Non-Profit arena for more than ten years. She has a well establish network of corporate, business, and community partners to benefit local Non-Profit programs and projects that she continues to work so diligently on.
With her deep passion to assist and empower others in the community, some of Marlene's accomplishments are, managing a successful "Employment" Homeless Intervention program and High School Career Center program, training consumers and students in job readiness skills, effective communication skills, life skills, and anger management skills.
Marlene also has a successful track record in developed and implemented large (more than 500 job seekers) and small Diversity Job Fairs,. She also has supervised and trained consumers on how to work as a team and develop & produce an informative monthly consumer newsletter.
Marlene has generated and specializes in obtaining In-Kind donations from her extensive corporate partnerships and local businesses. This has saved thousands of dollars for various Non-Profit organizations over the past ten years.
In addition, Marlene has also generated thousands of dollars in monetary donations for a local elementary school's Fine Arts Program.
